Training tomorrow’s leaders today in rangeland management and the stewardship of natural resources.

Join youth from across Texas on June 23-28, 2019, at the Texas Tech University campus in Junction, Texas, for the nation’s longest running natural resources program for teens! Participants in the 65th annual Texas Section Society for Range Management Youth Range Workshop will gain useful knowledge and valuable skills in ecology, inventory practices, management and evaluation of resources. Experts will teach topics on watershed management, prescribed burning, soil health and more, in important hands-on sessions and field trips during this week-long event. Youth are also trained in public speaking, advocacy and leadership so they are armed with the knowledge and experience to effectively educate others in rangeland management, regardless of the career path they choose. The workshop is open to youth ages 14 to 18 who have completed the eighth grade but not graduated from high school. The workshop cost is $400 and includes all meals, lodging and educational materials.

Check out the youtube video we shot last year at Youth Range Workshop about the 4-H Range Contests! This is the kind of cool educational stuff that goes on at YRW! And it’s even better up close and personal. Stay tuned, FFA video coming soon! And while you are at it, get signed up for 2019 YRW. All the cool kids will be there!
